Asha McKenzie is an Associated Press Award-Winning Journalist. She joined the News 12 team in May 2016 as an Anchor/Reporter.

​

Asha graduated Cum Laude from Montclair State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Before coming to News 12, Asha was an Anchor and Reporter at WENY News in Elmira, New York. Asha also worked as a Desk Assistant at WABC-TV. While at WENY, Asha won two first place New York Associated Press Awards for ‘General Excellence in Reporting’ and ‘Best Interview.’

Asha was born and raised in New Jersey and comes from a huge Jamaican family. She’s excited to be closer to her loved ones in NJ and in the Bronx. She looks forward to exploring the Bronx and Brooklyn.
