Nourish Your Spirit, Body, and Mind
Christian Meditation is a spiritual wisdom and practice that promotes contemplation, stillness, and silence while maintaining a centering focus on Jesus Christ as Lord.
Meditation can be used to help us in many ways; to gain a deeper relationship with God, to lessen our worries and anxieties; and to nurture our physical bodies just to name a few.
Given that we are currently experiencing a winter storm and we are shut in I’d like to offer a meditation to help restore your body and soul as well as nourish your relationship with the God.
Stand in a window facing the sun. Close your eyes and slightly lift your head while raising your arms up into a praise position. Your palms should be facing up in a receiving position.
Feel the warmth of the sun on your face, torso, and arms.
Take three long and deep breaths in and out while releasing your shoulders, neck and any other areas that might be holding stress.
Begin to thank God for God’s provisions like the sun, the snow, a day off to be still, the stillness of the streets and other important things that come to your mind.
Ask God to allow the warmth of the sun to nourish every cell in your body. Feel your entire body filling with nourishing sunlight and God’s presence. Let it flow to every cell in your body. Sense sunlight warming each of your internal organs.
Stand still, enjoying the silence and your feelings of wholeness.
End your meditation with three long and deep breaths in and out.
With this short meditation you will feel your relationship with the Divine strengthened and renewed. Your body will also feel vibrant and energized!
